Check out some of our reviews below on the newest movies that have come out. In this modern age where people are turning more to streaming services such as Netflix, it is becoming somewhat harder to keep people coming to the cinemas to watch movies. Therefore, companies are working to make their films more demanding of a huge cinematic experience.
This concern started as early as the 1950s when television was becoming mainstream. Cinema and television were in conflict with each other, so big film studios were pressured to upgrade the quality of the cinematic experience to lure viewers back to the cinema. This was where the invention of wider lenses (such as Cinemascope) and wider screens to view the films on occurred. Colour also became more widely used in the 1950s for this very same reason, and it eventually overtook black-and-white as the standard presentation for films. This concern has become even more exacerbated in this day and age as films released in cinemas have become either very effects-driven superhero films or long historical and biological epics designed in ways that need to be experienced on the big screen.

Black Panther (2018)
This film was a smash-hit for comic book and superhero movie fans!
Inception (2010)
A mind-bending and groundbreaking experience that requires multiple viewings.
This movie delves into high concepts and demands deep thinking and understanding in order to process what is going on in the movie.
There are also some mind-blowing action sequences.
John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
A stylish and well-choreographed action sequel.
Joker (2019)
A brilliant psychological study that humanises and destigmatises mental illness.
Tenet (2020)
Would be a better movie if we could hear what everyone was saying!
With this movie, it seems that director Christopher Nolan (Inception) has somewhat overreached and tried too hard to recapture the mind-bending, high-concept nature of previous movies to the point where he has made an incoherent mess.
Justice League (2017)
Everyone thought this movie was an absolute mess!
